What is the Reaching Forward Together (RFT) Campaign?

The RFT Campaign is a unified effort of the members and participants of Crossroads Baptist Church to secure pledges for contributions sufficient to completely pay for the construction of a new multi-purpose building over the course of a three-year period.

What building is the church planning to build?

The new multi-purpose building is often referred to as a Community Missions Building. It will provide space that will help us reach out to our community better than ever before. The building will include a gymnasium that will be used for athletics and exercise, additional Bible study and worship space, and as a larger dinner and fellowship space than what we currently have. The new building will also have a kitchen and coffee bar area and several additional classrooms for Bible study and community activity classes.

How much do we need to raise to complete the building?

The building, as it is planned, will cost approximately $1.65 million. If the RFT campaign were to raise $2 million, we could easily complete this new building and take care of some other important facility issues to bring our buildings and property into excellent condition for ministry for the coming years.

When will the campaign be held?

Planning for the RFT campaign has already begun. The public campaign will begin in January of 2010. Beginning on January 10, our weekend service will give significant focus to this effort. The weekend of January 30 & 31 will be our commitment weekend when we hope that all of our Crossroads members and regular participants will make a pledge toward the RFT campaign.

How can I learn more about the campaign and the building project?

In January information will be shared in the weekend services and brochures will be distributed with greater detail about the campaign and the building project.

When will the building be completed and ready for use?

Once the campaign pledges have been collected and totaled, the church will make final plans concerning the building and the schedule for construction. We hope that construction can begin in mid-2010 and be completed in early 2011.

Is there a certain amount that each family in the church will be expected or instructed to give?

Absolutely not! We would simply ask that pledges and contributions you give will reflect a spiritual decision on your part. Ask the Lord in prayer what He would have you to do and then be faithful to fulfill His will for your life in this matter. As with all the giving that is done to make possible the ministry of Crossroads, we never seek equal gifts but equal sacrifice.

How will my pledge and gifts be handled by the church?

As with all giving to the work of the Lord at Crossroads, your pledge and gifts will be handled with the strictest of confidence. Your gifts to this project will used exclusively for the defined scope of the project and will be fully tax deductible.
